Last night, while helping a friend get her online presence set up for her dog walking service, there was a site that called their log-in "Account". I was confused and ever so slightly afraid to click. Consistency is key. Can you imagine if a North American automaker put the ignition switch on the left hand side, just to be unique.

Good sites = top tasks, labelled the same as your top competitors. Boring? Yes. Effective? Yes.

Nice to see the museum sites rolling out. :)

Yeah, as I've mentioned before - differentiate yourself with your content and brand; don't mess with the de facto standards. But if you go out on a limb and choose to - do it consistently so people have an opportunity to learn!
